Grand Vin Pessac-Léognan 2012
94 points, “Quite rich, yet light on its feet, this is an absolutely textbook Pessac-Lèognan, with wonderfully velvety tannins. Drink it now, or drink it in 25 years. This is a brilliant wine.” - Robert Parker
According to Wine Advocate, quality has “soared to exceptional heights” at Château Malartic-Lagravière - which is under the ownership of the Belgian Bonnie family - over the last decade. And this wine is certainly proof of that. It dances across the palate with smoky hedgerow berries, figgy fruit cake, graphite, chocolate, and polished oak. Silken, lean, graceful and cerebral. Don’t be mistaken, this is a heavy hitter, but more Bruce Lee than Mike Tyson. An elegant sparring partner for Wagyu beef, foraged-mushroom Stroganoff and richly umami dishes.
