Saint-Chinian Cuvée Magali 2013
£16.50
Tasting Notes
Despite the great quality and value offered, Saint-Chinian has long been an underrated appellation. One of the up-and-coming producers in the area is Jean Lacugue and this Château Milhau-Lacugue, 12 kilometres east of Béziers, at Puisserguier. The domaine is located on south-east facing limestone hills surrounded by olive groves.
A blend of Syrah, Grenache Noir and Cinsault, this wine is juicy and warming, yet fresh and lifted. Aromas of black cherry, bramble and strawberry dominate the nose and palate. A brilliant, easy drinking cuvée best enjoyed with pasta, cold cuts or venison.
