93 points “While earthen and smoky initially this bold Viognier reveals zesty tangerine and white-floral perfume with time and aeration. It's a hefty wine that collapses in waves of peach and apricot on the palate. This classic representation of Condrieu should hold well through 2027.” – Wine Enthusiast

91 points “The 2017 Condrieu Galopine offers a clean crisp bouquet of citrus blossom tart tangerines and honeyed limes. It’s clean vibrant and fresh with medium body and has terrific acidity all making for a forward charming straight-up delicious Condrieu.” – Jeb Dunnuck

Condrieu is one of France’s most iconic white wines and this is a textbook example. Partially fermented in oak and aged on the lees to increase the texture and richness it displays layer upon layer of violet honeysuckle apricot orange peel jasmine bergamot peach and honey plus a wealth of dried and exotic fruit. Consider pairing with tagine buttery asparagus steamed fish or roast chicken stuffed with lemons.

Established by Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas in 1835 Delas Frères remained a family business for over 140 years and is revered for the elegance of its wines. Already incredibly well respected this Rhône powerhouse based in Tournon has now passed into the ownership of the Rouzauds – one of the wine world’s most powerful and discerning families who also look after Champagne Louis Roederer Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Domaines Ott Ramos Pinto and Champagne Deutz. So you are in very safe hand especially considering that head winemaker Jacques Grange worked for Michel Chapoutier and Jean-Luc Colombo before joining Delas Frères. Under his watchful eye the quality has gone through the roof and the wines have gained an almost Burgundy-esque finesse.
