Dom Pérignon’s epic Rosé is on an incredible run of form and the latest vintage, the 2006, is set to continue trajectory. Having spent more than a decade on the lees, this is taking the wine in quite a dark and dramatic direction. There’s the bitter orange of marmalade on rye bread toast, salted caramel, spiced figs, wildflowers, dried mint, red cherry, redcurrant, red apple, cream and Smoked Maldon Sea Salt. As the critic's reviews suggest, this has many great years ahead of it, so don’t worry too much about what to serve it with and just concentrate on securing a bottle or two.
Named after the 17th century Benedictine monk credited as the person who “invented” Champagne, Dom Pérignon is one of the world’s most coveted maison in Champagne. Representing a blend composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, only the very best grapes are used to create Dom Pérignon with the production process employed both lengthy and meticulous in its attention to detail.
