Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2013
95 points, “This is so refined. The palate is well balanced with very well integrated oak, plenty of mineralité here, great tension, basically a class act that is going to only improve with continued bottle age.” – Wine Advocate
This wine comes from a miniscule 0.14 hectare plot of 50-year-old vines located at the top of the Bâtard-Montrachet slope next to Le Montrachet. The brothers at Bachelet-Monnot only made three barrels in this vintage, making it’s near impossible to track down now. So don’t miss out on our last few bottles.
As you would expect, finesse and freshness are the name of the game here. Crunchy pear, spring blossom, Amalfi lemons, gentle spices, stone fruit beginning to caramelise in butter, and finally delicate salty chalk. Wound up tightly, this Grand Cru has a long life ahead of it, if you can keep your hands off.
