Puligny-Montrachet Les Reuchaux 2016

“Intense, long and both generous and well-shaped.” – Jancis Robinson’s Purple Pages

Jancis Robinson and her team of experts have only rated a couple of Puligny-Montrachet from 2016 higher than this one. Hailing from the Meursault side of Puligny-Montrachet, the 50+ year old vines of Les Reuchaux created a belter in an extremely challenging vintage. Deeply complex, you could spend hours picking apart the Granny Smith apple, nectarine, lemon peel, quince, white flower, toasted oatmeal and beeswax notes from this Chardonnay. For that reason, it’s wonderful on its own, but is equally delicious with freshly dressed crab, poached salmon with potato salad, or salty cheeses and fresh baguette.

Vincent Boyer has been running Domaine Yves Boyer-Martenot for over a decade and a half. His attention to detail in the organic vineyards produces diamond-bright Chardonnay, and his naturally modest demeanour has kept him out of the limelight and his wines very much under-the-radar for all but Burgundy’s most dedicated experts.
