Tavel La Forcadière Rosé 2015
£18.00
Tasting Notes
Tavel - just across the Rhône from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and not far from Avignon - produces a classic rosé, famously imbibed by Ernest Hemingway and one of the only rosés that improves with age. Bone dry, full-bodied and vivid terracotta in colour; these are serious wines and those crafted by Domaine Maby are “consistently among the best of the appellation” according to Wine Advocate.
Former stock trader Richard Mady returned to take over the family estate, which has developed from a few vines owned by local shoemakers into one of Tavel’s most respected producers. Rich and spicy, this wine is begging for you to get the tagine down and the harissa out. Alternatively test it out as a straight out of left field match to your Sunday roast.
