Limited Reserve Wild Oak Honey 298g
Awarded the highest possible rating of three stars by the prestigious Great Taste Awards, this Limited Reserve Wild Oak Honey comes from the mountains of Peloponnese. Eulogia of Sparta trek for nine hours, away from the urban sprawl and up to an altitude of 1,200m, to reach the beehives that create this honey. This remoteness and the effort over rough terrain make this an incredibly rare honey.
It’s packed with micro-nutrients like potassium and magnesium, which might explain why the ancient Greeks believed oak trees had mystical and healing properties. You’ll also be hard pushed to find a more complex honey; there’s a salinity reminiscent of salted caramel, dried wildflowers, liquorice, a woodiness as if you’ve climbed the trees yourself to get it, and a slight smokiness of embers in a fireplace. Unfiltered, it contains little bits of wax that give it a wonderful texture and make us want to combine it with blue cheese. Alternatively, stir it into yoghurt or eat it on freshly baked bread.
Established in 2012, Eulogia of Sparta create some of the most nutritious and unforgettably delicious honeys on the planet. Eulogia – pronounced “you-lōh-gee-uh” – translates from Greek as “blessing”, and their premium raw honeys are a blessing of the natural world that surrounds them. And have you ever seen a more glamorously packaged honey?
