The last word in Kiwi cool and we don’t just mean the temperature this hand-harvested Pinot Noir is a South Island sensation. Fab with ?eshy ?sh like tuna and salmon it also gets better with age if you can bear the wait.

Our Marlborough Pinot Noir is made exclusively for us by Framingham – a winery we love and have supported for many years. Framingham was launched in 1994 which makes them sound like relative newcomers but they actually tend some of the oldest vines in Marlborough. Named after their ancestral home just outside Norwich in England Framingham make the wine they want to drink. And that passion is obvious in every aromatic food-friendly small-batch drop they create. Which is probably why New Zealand wine expert and Master of Wine Bob Campbell named them his Winery of the Year in both 2018 and 2019.

The grapes are picked by hand from four cool-climate sites in the Wairau Valley and the wine takes a spin in some smoky oak barrels for around 10 months. It’s then bottled without fining or filtration making it vegan friendly and topped with a screwcap to keep all that freshness and integrity in. Imagine raspberries lavender smoked meats spiced plum crumble cherry compote graphite and cedar all wrapped up in silk and velvet. This super-versatile red will pair with just about anything from the Sunday roast to a salmon curry not to mention pink lamb or duck goulash barbeques roasted vegetables and lentil stews.
