Hill of Grace Duo Museum Release Gift Box 2005 & 2006

“The atmospheric and beautiful Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz is Australia’s most famous single vineyard wine.” – Langton’s

The Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine bestowed an “exceptional” ranking upon Hill of Grace, placing it alongside the likes of Penfolds Grange. For those not familiar with Langton’s, it’s an auction house that created a classification that has become the honour roll of Australia’s top fine wines. The wines are judged on the demand in the market over at least a decade, rather than simply relying on one critic’s opinion on a single vintage tasting. So, when they say this is one of Australia’s true greats, they really know what they’re talking about.

This Museum Release Gift Box provides an opportunity to own, not one, but two vintages of this spectacular wine. Hill of Grace is a pure Shiraz, matured in new French and American oak for 18 months or more. Nestled within a sleek, black, wooden box, you’ll discover the following two high-scoring wines:

  • 1 x Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2005, 750ml – 99 points, “Deep garnet with a hint of purple, the 2005 Hill of Grace offers a wonderful perfume of kirsch, red currant preserves and raspberry coulis with hints of cinnamon stick, cloves and orange peel. Medium to full-bodied, it is very elegant yet intense in the mouth with a lively acid line, medium-firm, very finely grained tannins, and a very long finish. Approachable now and should drink to 2040+.” – Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
  • 1 x Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2006, 750ml – 97+ points, “The deep garnet purple coloured 2006 Hill of Grace presents an incredibly perfumed, ethereal nose of warm crushed blackberries, rose petals, kirsch, violets, cinnamon stick, mace, fennel seed, eucalypt and damp earth. Very crisp and rich in the mouth with medium-firm velvety tannins and tons of fleshy fruit, it displays opulent layers of warm berries and spice in the finish. This is staggeringly beautiful wine and delectably approachable even at this very early stage.” – Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

The Henschke family have been making wine in Eden Valley since 1868. From the biodynamically farmed Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone vineyards, Stephen and Prue Henschke create two of Australia’s most sought-after wines. The vines used to make Hill of Grace were planted in 1860, survived phylloxera and now create one of the very best wines in the world.
