Chinon Rosé 2018
Described by The Telegraph’s Victoria Moore as “delicious”, Jean-Maurice Raffault’s Chinon Rosé 2018 is crisp, dry and tangy like raspberry sorbet. There’s also a very summery combo of redcurrant, pomegranate and pink grapefruit that’s as refreshing as a cold shower. Sip this lively rosé in the sunshine or as the sun goes down with goats’ cheese, cherry tomato salads, barbeques, picnics, simply cooked fish or mildly spiced curries.
Rodolphe Raffault’s family have been making wines in Chinon for fifteen generations. It was a good job he didn’t want to become an architect or an accountant. He uses no chemical fertilisers or herbicides on any of his organically farmed 50 hectares of vines. His father, Jean-Maurice, was such a pioneer in the region that it’s hard to think of anyone who did more to champion the wines of Chinon.
