Meursault 2014 - Jean-philippe Fichet

Jean-philippe Fichet

Meursault 2014

2014 has turned out to be an extraordinary year for white Burgundy. The understated Jean-Philippe Fichet described it as “an agreeable vintage without problems” and noted that “I think the wines will keep”. We just love a modest perfectionist. This wine is an absolute belter with a long life ahead of it.

White peach, lavender, oak barns, wild herbs, dusty earth, sunshine, the slight creaminess of barbequed sweetcorn and the saltiness of distant sea spray; this Meursault tastes like a holiday in Provence despite being from Burgundy. Pair with seafood, creamy pasta, ravioli with sage butter, salmon with hollandaise, lobster or nut-based cheeses on hot toast.

Made in small volumes, the wines of Jean-Philippe Fichet are a joy to behold in your glass. He’s the third generation of his family to create wine in this region and has thoroughly mastered it, even if he would never admit that. His Meursault is crafted from several parcels including Les Clous, Les Chaumes des Narvaux, Le Limozin, Les Crotots and Les Criots, and it’s going to bring you great pleasure.
