Pouilly-Fumé de Ladoucette opens with an intense nose of white flowers, hawthorn, dried herbs, nettles, grapefruit and exotic fruits like lychee, kiwi and mango. The palate delivers more of the same, accompanied by notes of crunchy pear, green apple, lemon, gooseberry, chalk, smoke, stone and flint-strewn beaches. A go-to wine for mussels, scallops and fresh fish, but that immense richness combined with crisp acidity makes it a delight with almost anything you’d care to pair with it.
