LDNSPRITZ Can 250ml
London Cru is central London’s first winery. They source grapes from all over Europe and using state-of-the-art equipment, they handcraft wonderful and award-winning wine in a converted gin distillery near Earl’s Court. Their latest creation is LDNSPRITZ – an English white wine spritz in a can made in the very heart of London. Your new summer favourite has arrived.
In Austria and Hungary, the white wine spritz is an art form. Inspired by the spritzers being served at Vienna cafés and Budapest nightclubs (more on the mighty Magyar fröccs below), London Cru decided to make their own canned spritzer. After much experimentation, they discovered that high acid and low alcohol wines, like those grown in England, work exceptionally well. So, they sourced Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Ortega from their friends in Essex and Kent, and LDNSPRITZ was born. It’s a locally sourced, gluten-free, vegan-friendly and low-calorie white wine spritz with no added flavours or colouring, just a picnic-perfect 5.5% ABV and lots of crisp and refreshing pear drop, peach, elderflower, green apple and lemon zest flavours. Stash a few of these in the fridge and you’ll be prepared for the moment the sun comes out, or just when you fancy something a little lighter. Sip it straight from the can or pour it into an ice-filled glass garnished with a sprig of mint (if you’re feeling fancy).
As a complete aside and nothing to do with LDNSPRITZ at all, in Hungary a spritzer is called a “fröccs”. They come in various strengths: the “athlete’s fröccs” is quite abstemious, the “Gyula Krúdy fröccs” (named after a particularly boozy writer) is not, the “landlord” obviously has a much higher wine to sparkling water ratio than the “tenant”, and you never want to be served a “dirty water”.
