95 points “Roederer's 2014 Brut Vintage is beautiful offering up aromas of pear mirabelle plum red berries warm biscuits and smoke. Full-bodied layered and elegantly muscular it’s seamless and complete with terrific mid-palate depth and amplitude. Framed by bright acids and enlivened by a pinpoint mousse it concludes with a penetrating finish. The blend is 70% Pinot Noir emphasizing Verzy and pressure is a touch higher than in its more ethereal Blanc de Blancs counterpart. As I wrote of its 2013 predecessor this is a wine that puts many prestige cuvées to shame.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Louis Roederer’s 2014 is an absolute revelation. Rich powerful and incredibly energetic it’s intensely smoky creamy peachy citrusy nutty gingery and chalky and that finish just goes on and on for days. James Suckling has described it as being “more gourmand” than previous vintages saying that it tastes like “delicious pie crust walnuts lemons sourdough white peaches and apricot stones” alongside “lingering praline and pastry notes.”

Despite being mild and rainy 2014 has been rated as “outstanding” in Champagne by the experts at Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. The Pinot Noir for this wine came from low-yielding vines in Verzy and Verzenay while the 30% Chardonnay was picked from Chouilly. Aged for five years in the bottle this is everything you would expect from one of the greatest Champagne houses and more.
