Malfy Con Arancia Gin

Tasting Notes
This bright orange bottle of Malfy Con Arancia Gin takes its wonderful colour from the finest sun-ripened Sicilian blood oranges. It almost feels like you receive a boost of Vitamin C from a gin and tonic made with it. We also adore it in a gin sour, using any combination of lime, grapefruit or lemon juice.
The inspiration behind Malfy Gin is “dolce far niente”, the sweet art of doing nothing, but leaning back in a sunny location, soaking up the view with an ice-cold gin and tonic in hand. But a lot of hard work and provenance goes into making that moment perfect.
Although many would argue that Dutch jenever, used as medicine in the 1500s, gave birth to gin, Italy may dispute that, as monks on the Salerno Coast were adding juniper and other botanicals to alcohol as early as the 11th Century. So this distillery in Moncalieri, just outside Turin in Italy, has a claim to being located in the birth country of gin. The Vergnano family and their Master Distillers Beppe and Denis use Italian lemons from Amalfi and Sicily, the obligatory juniper and five carefully selected botanicals. Malfy is distilled in a stainless steel vacuum still to ensure none of the aromatics are lost. These zesty creations are wonderful in the classic Italian cocktails: a Negroni, a Martini, or even a Gin & It.
