Picked from approximately 30-year-old vines and matured on the lees for at least six months, Marc Brédif Vouvray 2021 is still quite youthful and refreshing, displaying notes of spring blossom, pear, apple, lemon peel, pineapple sorbet and grapefruit, alongside a pleasing touch of sweetness and a buzz of acidity.
With more bottle age, it will start to evolve, adding heady layers of honey, wool, Calvados and quince jelly into the mix. This is why we recommend buying two bottles, one for now (maybe to serve with rich creamy sauces, roast pork and apple sauce, butternut squash soup or mild curries), and one to stow away and forget about for a few years.
