Marsala 10 Year Old Bartoli
Arguably Marsala’s greatest producer, the late Marco de Bartoli was regarded as a national…
Produced predominantly from the variety Grillo, this Marsala is produced in a resolutely traditional method, which involves lengthy oak barrel maturation and fortification with 'mistella' alcohol. Incredibly complex and savoury on the nose, this wine suggests salty caramel, baked lemon, roasted nuts and orange tart. The palate is sweet but fresh with a wonderful combination of dried fruit and nut flavours, complemented by a whisper of spice and impeccably balanced fresh acidity. A delicious alternative to Madeira and aged sherry, this unique wine is best served slightly chilled at the end of the meal with nut and chocolate based desserts or cheese.
