Nikka Coffey Vodka
Already one of the shining stars of Japanese whisky, Nikka has now added a vodka to their outstanding portfolio.
Anyone familiar with Nikka whisky will know that their continuous-style Coffey still – designed by Ireland’s Aeneas Coffey in 1831 and imported to Japan by Nikka’s founder and the father of Japanese whisky Masataka Taketsuru – produces smooth and deeply flavoured spirits. And their vodka is no exception.
Produced from malted barley and corn, this vodka is then mellowed by filtering through white birch charcoal. Displaying delicate notes of Okayama peach and Kellogg’s cornflakes, it is an absolute masterclass in delicacy and harmony. Martini aficionados need to take note, as should anyone who likes to sip their vodka neat.
This Asahi-owned company has been making white spirits for the Japanese market for a while, and Harvey Nichols is excited to now make them available in the UK.
