“A lovely sparkler of pedigree and finesse.” – Wine Enthusiast
Creamy and elegant with a lacy delicacy, this exquisite fizz simmers and shimmers with lemon zest, green apple, poached pear, white peach, kiwi, lily of the valley, acacia and dried herbs. But that’s only half the story, because Nino Franco’s Nodi is possibly the finest Prosecco Harvey Nichols has ever encountered…
When the legendary Primo Franco stumbled across the wrinkled, knotted and gnarled old vines in the plateaued single vineyard of Col del Vent, he knew they were something dazzlingly special. He said they wore their fruit and leaves “as if an haute couture model”. So, he called on the expertise of the viticulture rockstar duo Marco Simonit and Pierpaolo Sirch. Nobody understands vine age and terroir like these guys, who prune and care for vineyards belonging to Châteaux Latour, d’Yqeum, Ausone, Lynch-Bages, Pichon Lalande, Pape Clément and Haut Bailly, Domaines Leroy and Ott, Champagne houses Louis Roederer and Moët & Chandon, Ornellaia, Torbreck, Henschke, Klein Constantia and the late, great Denis Dubourdieu. This demonstrates just how illustrious the company of terroir this Prosecco walks alongside.
Nodi, meaning knots in Italian, is the very rare second vintage of this wine and availability is extremely scarce. An utter delight on its own, or served alongside the finest sashimi, prosciutto, sopressata, antipasti, polenta funghi or risotto. Don’t miss out; it’s time to tie the knot.
