Blewitt Springs Estate Frontignac 2016 - Patritti

Blewitt Springs Estate Frontignac 2016

Piedmontese Giovanni Patritti was one of the first Italian immigrants to arrive in South Australia. His kinfolk have blazed a trail ever since and the winery that bears his name is now 5 Star rated by James Halliday’s Wine Companion.

Frontignac is another name for Muscat, the wonderfully aromatic grape famously used to make Moscato d’Asti in Italy and Banyuls in France. Here in Australia’s Adelaide Hills – a cool-climate region renowned for its aromatic wines – it creates a dramatic white with relatively low alcohol, a little natural sweetness, floral notes and crisp acidity. A gorgeous choice for spicy food or fruity salads. Also 2016 was one of the best ‘all-round’ vintages in Adelaide Hills for some time.
