92 points, “Exotic and oaky notes with toasty, nutty and stone fruit character. Lovely palate with ripe expression and complex notes.” – Decanter World Wine Awards 2022.

Pommery Brut Apanage is a Champagne of finesse and elegance. Ripe Chardonnay holds court, delivering buttery shortbread, vanilla-infused Chantilly cream, lemon curd, pink grapefruit, apricot Danish pastry and toasted hazelnuts notes. For the non-French speakers out there, ‘apanage’ means ‘prerogative’, and this distinguished Champagne is a privilege that certainly lives up to its name.

Originally established as a wool trading company called Pommery & Greno in 1858, this business took a dramatic change of direction when its founder Alexandre Louis Pommery died, and his widow Louise took over. Now, Pommery is one of the biggest names in Champagne, and it deserves a special place in the region’s history as Madame Pommery created the first Brut Champagne in 1874. This ground-breaking wine changed the prevailing preference for sweeter Champagne and would go on to become the world’s most popular style. The avant-garde Champagne house, with its turrets, towers, crenelations, red bricks and blue façade, is every bit as bright and striking as the wines produced within its walls. Madame Pommery described her refined wines with two words: joy and lightness. So, when you want to spread a little joie de vivre, reach for a bottle of Pommery Champagne.
