This collaboration between Francis Nadeau Jean-Marie Bernard and Baptiste Loiseau – the oenologist distiller and cellar master respectively – offers a new tropical expression of Rémy Martin’s house style. It started with wine made from highly aromatic grapes. This was distilled on the lees in small alembics to up the texture and complexity. And finally the blend was created using only the most fragrant eaux-de-vie before being bottled at a higher than normal 47% that accentuates the fresh fruit flavours. Although it’s every bit as silky and elegant as you’d expect from Rémy Martin it explodes with pineapple lychee peach apricot ginger cinnamon nutmeg liquorice and toasted oak. It’s the perfect Cognac for pairing with tropical fruit desserts or sipping over ice on long summer evenings.
