Tasting Notes
90 points, “Bracing and lively, with deeper autolytic tones augmenting refreshing red berries, apple and rhubarb.” – Decanter World Wine Awards 2020
Ridgeview’s Fitzrovia Brut Rosé was chosen to be served to Barack Obama by Her Majesty the Queen at a Buckingham Palace State Banquet. Endorsements don’t come much more heavily imbued with importance and glamour than that.
Fitzrovia is a fresh, bright and very British feeling rosé fizz. The crispness comes from the dominance of Chardonnay in the blend, while the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier add that delicate salmon colour and notes of redcurrant, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, red apple, rhubarb crumble and pink grapefruit. Although it makes a fabulous aperitif, Fitzrovia is also a super-versatile ‘food wine’. So, feel free to pair it with anything from lightly spicy dishes to summer pudding or strawberries and cream.
Ridgeview has been a pioneering English Sparkling Wine producer for more than 25 years. Starting out in 1995, back when few believed this country could create world-class wines, they’ve been instrumental in moulding the now thriving English wine industry. Based in Ditchling, on the edge of the beautiful South Downs, Ridgeview’s vine-to-glass wines consistently impress, putting England firmly on the global stage, as demonstrated by them winning “Best International Winemaker” at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2018. Ridgeview Wine Estate’s classic house style is one of freshness and vibrancy, and we find they always prove popular at parties.
