This aromatic long pepper from the Indonesian island of Java, sometimes called pipli, has a truly unique character. Accompanying the classic black pepper flavour, you’ll discover notes of liquorice, aniseed, cinnamon and spicy heat. We particularly like it grated on our morning scramble or carbonara, and even maybe a flourish into a gin and tonic.

For drama and purity of flavour, reach for Rivsalt. Created by Swedish entrepreneur and designer Jens Sandringer, the range was inspired by an evening at a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant in Beijing, where the chef seasoned dishes using a large ginger grater and big rock salt. This unique experience combines with the Scandi design. The collection has now expanded to include pink, blue and black salts, as well as Java long pepper.
