Winner of a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021.

In 1790 George Sandeman took a loan of £300 from his father to set up a Port and Sherry business in London. From those modest beginnings George created one of the world’s iconic wine brands. From Porto the company quickly diversified and bought Sandeman Bodegas in Jerez for Sherry production. A true innovator George Sandeman was the first one to brand all his port pipes with GSC (George Sandeman & Co.) thus assuring provenance and quality. The brand was registered as a trademark in 1877 making it one of the oldest still in use. Following on the tradition of the house as innovators the now iconic figure of the “Don” was featured on Sandeman’s bottles as early as 1935.

Sandeman 10 Year Old Tawny Port is produced by the traditional Porto Wine method. The grapes are picked by hand and undergo a long skin maceration so as to extract the best components. Spirit is then added to set the balance between the wine´s body and bouquet. After the harvest the wines remain in the Douro until the following spring when they are taken to Sandeman’s centuries-old lodges for ageing in oak wood casks.

A blend of wines between 9 and 12 years of age this Port shows elegant and complex aromas combining ripe fruit jam and nuts with hints of vanilla and raisins. In the mouth Sandeman 10 Year Old Tawny Port is a most flavoursome wine full-bodied and appealing with a persistent finish.

And now it’s available in this impressive limited-edition jeroboam containing four and a half litres of the elixir. It’s a showstopping gift idea for anniversaries weddings birthdays and big gatherings.
