Underwood Mountain Vineyards Riesling 2017 - Savage Grace Wines

Savage Grace Wines

Underwood Mountain Vineyards Riesling 2017

A heavenly Riesling from the volcanic slopes of Columbia River Gorge in Washington State, whose off-dry character and crisp acidity is crying out for something spicy. Whip up Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Szechuan or even tacos; then revel in Underwood Mountain Vineyards Riesling’s refreshing zing of lemon, tangerine, ginger, apricots drizzled in honey, jasmine, poached pear and that pinch of sea salt.

Washington State’s Savage Grace Wines was established in 2011 by winemaker Michael Savage and his wife Grace Hearn but the name is far more than just a clever play on their names. It reflects the vines’ struggle to survive here in this wild northwest corner of America and the elegance that Michael manages to tease out of them. His aim is to craft wines in an Old World style with lower alcohol using sustainable farming methods. These boutique wines are super rare, with only 100-or-so cases of some of them in existence. Savage Grace also uses natural yeasts and very little sulphur, creating wines that are vegan-friendly.
