Brutti ma Buoni Gluten-Free Hazelnut Dolcetti 180g
These biscuits are so good they made our Italian wine buyer feel quite homesick when we opened them. The name Brutti ma Buoni means “ugly but good”; they might well be a little lumpy, but they are quite beautiful in our eyes. Tasting like little nutty meringues, they’re made to a recipe from Siena in the heart of Tuscany that has been passed down through three generations. The reason they’re so moreish is the flavour that comes from the highly prized PGI Piemonte Hazelnuts, and they’re gluten-free to boot. Serve alongside a coffee, a Madeira or a dessert wine at the end of the meal, or crumble over ice cream with add a dash of Amaretto.
Tuscany is a gastronomic treasure trove that has given the world Panzanella, lardo, ribollita, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, chicken liver pâté, cavolo nero, truffles, game, olive oil and, of course, all that incredible wine. But don’t overlook this Italian region’s biscuits and sweet delicacies.
Seggiano is the go-to for Italian food lovers. Sourcing the best products from all over the country, their quality, integrity and provenance are simply flawless. As a result, you’ll find their sweet treats to be GMO and palm oil free.
