The Sipping Series Chilli & Lime Gin
Time to spice up your drinks cabinet. The winning combo of chilli and lime is what makes some of the world’s finest cuisines pop from Vietnam to Mexico. Now it’s available in one of this year’s most exciting new gins…
This limited-edition gin is one for the adventurous sipper. Blending seven fruity and deeply complex chillies with the zing of fresh lime, Sipsmith have created a moreish and modern spirit that can replace the Tequila in your Margarita or the rum in your Mojito. Refreshing lime is gin’s greatest bedfellow, while the fiery kick of chilli enhances the peppery juniper of the gin, adds notes of dried fruits and ripe cantaloupe melon, and really gets those endorphins pumping. But don’t be scared of the heat, it’s far from being too hot to handle, all-in-all it’s a perfectly balance gin with just a little fire in its belly. A fabulously foodie invention; we think it makes the ultimate gin and tonic for pairing with exotic Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Jamaican and Indian dishes and spicy canapés.
The Chilli & Lime Gin is the inaugural release in the Sipping Series – a range of limited-edition gins that have emanated from Sipsmith’s experimental gin membership, the Sipping Society. Each one is handmade in small batches and if the first release is anything to go by, it’s going to be hot property.
Sipsmith was the first London Distillery to be opened in over 100 years. Two childhood friends, Fairfax Hall and Sam Galsworthy, had a belief in tradition and doing things properly. So, they created the first traditional copper distillery in London since 1820. Everything is handcrafted, there are no machines making decisions on the cut timings, just the distiller’s art. Their three stills – Prudence, Patience and Constance – gleam in copper excellence as they create some of the finest gin on the planet. These are then reduced to bottling strength using the pure water of Lydwell Spring, a source of the River Thames. It may be relatively new, but Sipsmith has quickly become a classic.
