KIN NO BI Gold Leaf Gin
KI NO BI was the first Japanese gin made in Kyoto, crafted using a rice-based spirit, pure water from the Fushimi sake-brewing district and an array of Japanese botanicals, such as yellow yuzu, hinoki wood chips, bamboo, gyokuro tea from the Uji region and green sanshō berries. This incredible producer has been named Craft Distiller of the Year (Icons of Gin 2019) and International Gin Producer of the Year (International Wine & Spirits Competition 2018).
Only 10,000 bottles of their Gold Leaf limited edition, called KIN NO BI, were created for worldwide distribution, making it incredibly rare in the UK. Gold leaf is traditionally added to Japanese sake for celebrations such as New Year, weddings and festivals, The Kyoto Distillery has just expanded this concept to their gin. To add even more luxury, the floating pieces of gold were sourced from a Kyoto-based company called Horikin, who began gold leaf manufacturing in 1711. The label design was created in collaboration with Kira Karacho and symbolises long life and good fortune. Now who doesn’t want that?
