Tasting Notes
If the iconic Bordeaux First Growth Château Lafite Rothschild made Corbières…
…oh hold up, they do. It's called Château d’Aussières. Winemaking royalty meets the warmth of Southern France to create bottled bliss.
Baron Eric de Rothschild discovered this property in sunny Languedoc-Roussillon and instantly fell in love with it. With winemaking history dating back to Roman times, the family painstakingly restored the estate and it’s now one of the most impressive in the entire region and is leading Corbières’ renaissance.
According to the experts at Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “This outpost of the Lafite Rothschild family has turned out a potentially outstanding 2016 Corbières.” A blend of sun-kissed Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan that’s aged in oak for over a year; this highly polished red gleams with raspberry, blackberry, vanilla, balsamic and roasted spices. Pair with slow-cooked stews, rustic dishes, herby roasts, olive and tomato pasta, or anything chargrilled.
