Made using Julie’s secret recipe, Tiptree’s rich and fruity Brown Sauce is what your fry-up, bacon sandwich, sausages and haggis supper would choose if they could. Thick, tangy, smoky and spicy; ketchup never stood a chance.

The Wilkin family started fruit farming in the Essex village of Tiptree in 1865. To prevent the produce from spoiling on long journeys, they started turning it into jam in 1885. Wilkin & Sons Limited began to expand from just making ‘conserve’ using homegrown fruit, to also crafting ‘preserve’ using imported fruit. Now, Wilkin & Sons and the Tiptree jams created at their Trewlands factory are world famous.

Keenly aware of the impact of the climate emergency, Tiptree has also become a market leader environmentally, reducing their chemical use by 80% and plastic in their packaging, planting thousands of non-fruit trees and hedgerows, and even becoming a Demonstration Farm for LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming).
