Costa y Pampa Pinot Noir 2015

Tasting Notes
Chapadmalal may sound like something you’d order from an Indian takeaway, but it is in fact one of the official residences of the President of Argentina to the south of Buenos Aires, and it’s also home to this unusual Pinot Noir. Trapiche has been making wines from French varieties since 1883, and has become one of Argentina’s true icons. With this new project on the opposite side of the country to their Mendoza base, they’re capturing the freshness of the Atlantic coast and the magic of the pampas fields. Aged in old Burgundy barrels, Jancis Robinson has described this food-friendly and delicately-coloured wine as “juicy and scented on the palate but with great purity and finesse.” Think seared duck breast, tuna steak or wild mushrooms with this bewitchingly aromatic wine.
