Puligny-Montrachet Corvée des Vignes 2014

Tasting Notes
When it comes to this energetic and refreshing vintage, leading Burgundy expert Allen Meadows advised his readers to “buy the 2014s… I would suggest not only buying but buying aggressively.” This is definitely one we’d recommend wrestling to get hold of as it’s probably one of the best village-level Puligny-Montrachets we’ve ever come across.
Pronounced ‘Doo-ray John-tea-arl’, Vincent Dureuil-Janthial is much loved by those in the know. As a case in point, Jean-François Coche-Dury is frequently described as one of the greatest winemakers on Earth and if you ask him what he likes to drink and he says: “If I see his name [Dureuil-Janthial] on a wine list, I don’t give it a second thought and simply order his wine.” This huge praise is well deserved.
Located near the Meursault border, the organically farmed Corvée des Vignes 2014 offers incredible depth for a village-level Puligny-Montrachet. Apples sautéed in butter, young apples picked straight off the tree, pastry, cream, white peach, nectarine, meadow flowers, sea salt and freshly chiselled chalk. It’s so fun, it’s one of those wines that stops you in your tracks. Wonderfully food friendly, it will pair with anything from salads to creamy sauces, and from fish to rich cheeses.
