Vintage Port 1983
The world’s most famous wine critic, Robert Parker, said that Graham’s was probably “the most consistent producer of great Port in the post-World War II era” and the called their 1983 “one of the top two or three Ports of this vintage”.
1983 was “an exceptional Vintage, with outstanding, powerful wines,” according to Graham’s, also noting: “The best are just beginning to show their true pedigree. These wines have plenty of time ahead and are developing into a first-class vintage year.” Graham’s 1983 is a muscular and powerful Port that is displaying immense longevity, it explodes with lush black fruit, red summer berries, spices, tar, the burnt edges of a plum crumble, and minty eucalyptus. A monumental bottle to serve up at special occasions, or to gift for any 1983 anniversary.
Established in 1820, Graham’s is one of the most famous names in the Port trade and has long been synonymous with the greatest vintage Ports. The Symington family acquired the company from the Graham family in 1970, so today Graham's remains a wholly family-owned firm. The Symington family are trusted hands because they are the world’s leading producer of premium Port and the biggest vineyard owner in the Douro Valley – a UNESCO World Heritage Site of jaw-dropping beauty. The company is also B-Corp Certified, which means they are also on it when it comes to the environment, sustainability, their people, their supply chain and giving back to the community.
