Tasting Notes
95 points, “The hint of caramel and raisins mixed with sugar makes this irresistible. It is sexy and intriguing.” – Wine Advocate
95 points, “Though it obviously has another 20 or 30 years in the tank, this mellow Graham’s is drinking beautifully now.” – Vinous
Something a little softer and more sensual from Graham’s. Their 1994 Vintage Port has a long life ahead of it, but it’s now entering its drinking window. Expect notes of eucalyptus, raisins, crème brûlée, blackberries, raspberries, roasted chestnuts, blackcurrant liquorice, roasted chestnuts, hot cross buns, figs, Polish chocolate-covered prunes and many more. It feels like a big, warm, soft blanket for cold nights. Maybe with a cheeseboard and a roaring fire?
Established in 1820, Graham’s is one of the most famous names in the Port trade and has long been synonymous with the greatest vintage Ports. The Symington family acquired the company from the Graham family in 1970, so today Graham's remains a wholly family-owned firm. The Symington family are trusted hands because they are the world’s leading producer of premium Port and the biggest vineyard owner in the Douro Valley – a UNESCO World Heritage Site of jaw-dropping beauty. The company is also B-Corp Certified, which means they are also on it when it comes to the environment, sustainability, their people, their supply chain and giving back to the community.
