Blanc de Blancs 2010 - Wiston Estate

Wiston Estate

Blanc de Blancs 2010

Wiston's Blanc de Blancs was voted one of the Most Exciting Wines of 2019 by Decanter Magazine, receiving a score of 94 points and praise for its texture, acidity and finish.

Owned by the Goring family since 1743, Wiston Estate was converted into a 16 acres vineyard in 2006, following the vision of Pip Goring. The estate is now run according to a strict philosophy of sustainability, with no herbicides sprayed on the soil. The outmost respect for nature and the work of award-winning winemaker Dermot Sugrue ensures no effort is spared in order to produce some of the best English Sparkling Wines available today. The fruit for their vintage range is sourced exclusively from the family’s vineyards, located on the south facing chalk slopes of the South Downs in Sussex.

The Blanc de Blancs 2010 is a seriously age worthy wine that manages to perfectly marry the elegant and refreshing style of the house with complex notes due to the extensive ageing on lees. The nose bursts with white flowers, wet stones and biscuit aromas. The palate is beautifully textured, with a creamy, precise mousse and a lively, persistent finish. This Blanc de Blancs will pair perfectly with noble seafood, lobster termidor or truffle risotto.
