Cartuxa Colheita Branco takes its name from the Carthusian monks who finished building a monastery finished nearby in 1598. And this Portuguese white is so good we’re starting to form a ‘habit’.
Crafted from an unoaked blend of Antão Vaz and Arinto grapes it displays notes of peach lemon passionfruit pear orange peel melon smoky gunpowder and beach pebbles. Fans of adventure and Chablis will find much to love here.
Cartuxa is one of the oldest wine producers in Portugal. Located in Évora a sub-region of Alentejo its Quinta de Valbom site has been growing grapes since 1517. So this is a winery steeped in history. Now run by the Eugénio de Almeida family it has expanded to the impressive size of 1 050 hectares of vineyards spread across four sites.
