Quinta do Ataíde was planted in the Vilariça Valley in the northern reaches of the Douro Valley in the early 1980s back when Touriga Nacional was a too often neglected variety. Fully organic Vinha do Arco is sourced from a single vineyard on the estate and is a wine very much built to last.
Robust and rich the vegan-friendly Vinha do Arco is packed with black fruits plums blueberries violets thyme vanilla and smoke. In recent years this wine seems to be becoming more and more elegant as if Quinta do Ataíde have tamed this vineyard and now make it with much more finesse. Pair with red meats slow-cooked and herby tomato sauces black bean chilli or kale cooked with chorizo and garlic.
