91 points “Delicate palate with silky substance and racy fruits coupled with subtle exuberance. Elegance balance smoothness and well-judged extraction steal the show.” – Gilbert & Gaillard Wine Guide

New to the Harvey Nichols range this rich Champagne is imbued with the same sense of glamour elegance and revolution as the lady on the label. A blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir it makes quite the entrance with tangy cherry strawberry sorbet plum crumble toast and salted butter yeast bread dough a waft of smoke and a crisp lemon freshness. Charles Ellner Rosé Brut Champagne makes a fine aperitif or drop for celebrations but the weight it carries also makes it an exquisite wine for pairing with cherry tomato salads pork tenderloin pink duck romesco sauce with charred spring onions crab ravioli or the most decadent pizza night.

The family-run Champagne Charles Ellner is based in the very heart of Epernay. Established by Charles Emile Ellner who released his first Champagne as a grower in 1905. The business is now run by his grandson Jean-Pierre Ellner with a little help from his daughters Emmanuelle and Alexandra and nephews Frederic and Arnaud. Farming more than 50 hectares spread across 15 villages they create stunning Champagnes that are aged on the lees for a minimum of three years which is more than twice what is required by law. This creates wines of immense depth and richness. However the House’s choice to use a high proportion of Chardonnay and to forego malolactic fermentation means all that power is expertly balanced by a crunchy apple and citrus freshness which has you reaching for another sip immediately.
