95 points, “Darker in colour than most in this vertical tasting, Château Beychevelle reached its best maturity levels for Cabernet Sauvignon in 2010. This is a really beautiful wine, very much reflective of St-Julien’s qualities with its balance and brushed tannins. It's not ready yet and is still pretty closed, the succulent tannins closing in for the final moments, but they have flexibility in their structure and this is going to run and run. Rich and concentrated, it's a gorgeous Beychevelle.” – Decanter

Set in the heart of the St Julien appellation, Beychevelle was founded in 1565 by Bishop Francois of Foix-Candale. Subsequent enlargement by the Heine family in the 18th century gave this iconic estate its famous gardens. The desire to marvel and enchant remained at the core of the estate to the extent that the famous critic Robert Parker declared “Beychevelle’s wines can be as beautiful as its magnificent gardens”.

Renowned for their graceful and complex wines, Beychevelle wines show an incredible aromatic richness so typical of the appellation. This 2010 vintage is a great example of the style of the estate, bursting with notes of black fruit, sweet spices and light tobacco. Elegant and balanced, this multi-layered Bordeaux is perfect to accompany hearty risotto, grilled meat or beef tartare.
