Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is the second wine of Saint-Julien’s Château Branaire-Ducru. On taking over this estate Patrick Maroteaux created Duluc in honour of the family that owned it in 1855 and who built the current château.
This hearty red offers a great value glimpse into an estate on the rise due to the Maroteaux family’s heavy investment and hard work. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc; it presents rich cassis leather plum hedgerow fruit mocha toasted granary bread pepper and elegant spices.
The highly fashionable Château Branaire-Ducru is located just north of Margaux and opposite the much-loved Château Beychevelle. Their rich and powerful Saint-Juliens are a perfect choice for game slow cooked beef pink duck and roasted root vegetables.
