Robert Parker considers Château Marsau such “a revelation for this particular appellation” that he had to ask himself: “Is it the Pétrus of the Côtes de Francs?” This 100% Merlot is certainly opulent one might say almost Napa-esque. Located a few kilometres east of Saint-Émilion this little-known appellation has to work twice as hard as its neighbours to get noticed. And Château Marsau works its socks off. Rich jammy and creamy with raspberry cherry clove black pepper orange peel mocha vanilla and tobacco nuances. We cannot recommend this highly enough. A dinner party go-to.
