The Ciacci Piccolomini 385 Toscana Rosso IGT 2016 is a stunning expression of Tuscan wine craftmanship and is the brainchild of the Meregalli and Bianchini families after 15 years of collaboration. The wine’s roots come from the historic Sangiovese, but the 385 is a more modern expression with the addition of Merlot, Ciliegiolo and Syrah grapes. Blending grapes from the two wine regions of Montalcino and Montecucco results in a unique, fresh and fragrant wine, expressing great structure and character but without being dependent on the stereotypes often attributed to Tuscan wine.

The 385 captivates the senses with its deep ruby colour and rich ripe aromas of blackberries, red berries, cherries and plums intertwined with hints of tobacco, cedar and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it offers a lush and velvety texture with layers of dark fruit, spice and savoury notes unfolding gracefully. The wine’s firm yet silky tannins provide structure and balance, while vibrant acidity adds freshness and energy to the long, lingering finish. The powerful and full bodied 385, so called due to the meters above sea level where the estate is located, is a versatile wine which can match all courses of a meal from antipasti to beef stews and pungent cheeses. This unique, everyday drinking wine should be the next bottle to be opened at your table.

The estate of Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona can trace its roots back to the 17th century and sits in the southeast of the Montalcino region, close to the beautiful medieval village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the Tuscan hills.
