92 points “A fresh creamy-textured white with lots of freshness and lovely pear and green-apple character. Some white pineapple. It’s medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a flavourful finish. Less herbs and more clean ripe fruit.” – James Suckling

91 points “Delightfully textured and smooth with balanced yet mouth-watering acidity this wine veers into the green hedgerow spectrum of Sauvignon; think nettles and elderflowers rather than flamboyant tropical fruits… Don't chill the hell out of this or you'll miss the best bits.” – Vinous

One of the first few wineries established in Marlborough Cloudy Bay is a bona fide icon. This status was cemented in 2003 when it was bought by Louis Vuitton Möet Hennessey a move that placed it alongside titans of the industry like Château d’Yquem Dom Pérignon Glenmorangie Krug Ardbeg and Château Cheval Blanc.

Now Cloudy Bay is one of the world’s most famous producers an incredible feat for a winery that was only established in 1985. It achieved this through meticulous attention to detail and unmistakable regional expression. Thanks in no small part to Cloudy Bay New Zealand has now defined Sauvignon Blanc much to the chagrin of France’s Loire Valley.

Each year their new vintage is launched exclusively through Harvey Nichols. Green and exuberant the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc is grassy and packed with orchard fruit. It leaps from the glass with kaffir lime leaf freshly cut summer lawns pear Granny Smith apple fresh herbs grapefruit lemongrass white blossom gooseberry Amalfi lemon and passionfruit. Highly consistent this is perfect on its own or can be paired with sushi fresh seafood asparagus avocado or spicy Southeast Asian dishes.
