Courvoisier Mizunara Cognac 2023 is the second edition of Mizunara from the illustrious Cognac house, but the first from its Chief Blender, Thibaut Hontanx. Born from a desire to experiment, this Cognac pushes the boundaries to create a spirit that daring and unforgettable.
Created in collaboration with House of Suntory’s Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo, the 2023 expression is a celebration of expert craft and meticulous precision. Golden mahogany in colour, it’s been aged in barrels made from the rare Japanese Mizunara oak tree and filled with Grand Champagne, the most prestigious of the crus from the Cognac region chosen for its long ageing potential. The result is a unique and exotic blend that reveals candied orange and coconut from the Mizunara on the nose, followed by the delicate aromas of tropical fruit, chocolate, honey and exotic flowers. The smooth and mellow palate delivers great complexity with a long-lasting finish of soft tannins and exotic sweetness.
The elegant bottle and wooden case are screen-printed with the mighty Mizunara oak tree in gold as a reminder of the story behind the blend. At the neck of the bottle, you’ll find the signature of the two Master Blenders who created the created the expression.
