Croft was established in 1588 making it the oldest Port House still in operation. Their wines have therefore become dinner party and festive season classics throughout the world.

The Late Bottle Vintage 2013 is like blackcurrant coulis prunes rose petals Russian Caravan tea chocolate-covered almonds herby balsamic coffee and Christmas cake all trapped beneath a cork. LBVs are aged for longer in wood so that when bottled they're ready to drink immediately. So crack this open with cheese chocolate-based desserts and festive fare or simply sip it after dinner next to the fireplace.

The Croft story begins unexpectedly in York. Henry Thomson began trading wine in the city in 1588. War with France caused the Thompsons to refocus their business on Portugal and the family later married into the Croft’s family a century later giving birth to Croft Port as we know it today. The family-run business owns immaculate terraced vineyards throughout the region including Quinta da Roêda – one of the Douro Valley’s star vineyards. Their approach a juxtaposition of tradition and innovation; still employing foot stomping in the winery but also being first to create a rosé Port.
