Richard and Stéphane Martin took over the family business at Domaine de La Croix Senaillet from their father in 1992. They started organically farming their patchwork of plots in Davayé, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé in 2003. Slowly but surely, together they’ve ramped up the quality and grown the business from 6.5 hectares to 25 hectares and are now considered one of the most important producers of Saint-Véran.
2020 was a strong vintage in Burgundy, with the whites displaying luscious texture, intense fruitiness and a wonderful balancing freshness. This Saint-Véran hails from 45-year-old vines, which adds tremendous concentration and generous richness to the crisp, freshness of the vintage. Expect zingy lemon, pear sorbet, sea spray on a pebble beach, nougat, ripe peach, chalk and a little exotic kiwi. Pair it with lavish lunches in the sunshine.
