The Clavoillon 2020 expression comes from one of four Premier Cru vineyards held under the Domaine Leflaive name. It is one of the most influential estates in Puligny-Montrachet and has been the leader in Burgundy’s biodynamic movement since 1997.
This Premier Cru Burgundy has been aged for 12 months in 22% new oak, then is transferred to steel tanks where it continues to mature for a further six months. It is an intense, unctuous and elegant expression which combines richness and depth of fruit with refinement and perfect balance. Offering Leflaive’s signature notes of purity alongside lemon zest, white peach, beeswax, apple blossom, blanched almonds, white chocolate, praline, baguette, vanilla, jasmine tea and just a hint of sea salt, this complex, deeply decadent and smooth Chardonnay is at its very best.
