This big white comes from a one-hectare plot of Roussanne Clairette Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc and exhibits the perfect balance of honeyed richness and clean crispness. Sabon manages to create something that’s opulent but without ever being over-the-top or overbearing. Roger Sabon is an esteemed producer on top form who has been described by Robert Parker as “one of the more intellectual vignerons in Châteauneuf-du-Pape”. The Sabon family have a long and illustrious history in the region which can be traced back to 1540 – that’s even longer than the legendary Beaucastel. Roger Sabon took over the 18-hectare estate in 1952 and the property is now in the hands of the talented Didier Négron who is responsible for some of the finest Châteauneufs being produced today including our own label expression from our Premium Range.
